Overdue Update

Sorry I have been behind in updating, but these babies are keeping me on my toes. The babies had their 9 month check up last Thursday and are doing well. Ella weighed 18 pounds 9 ounces and is now in the lead, this has not happened since birth when she was 1 ounce more than Jackson. The Dr is sending us to have a physical therapy evaluation since she is still behind the boy's in most everything. She will catch up in her own time, but we are just going to give her a little push. Jackson was 18 pounds 4 ounces and is on the verge of crawling. I'm sure he will be doing it in no time. Jackson has to go to U of M for a head ultrasound because his head circumference went from the 10% to 75%. We are hoping that the U/S will show what they need to see, but he may need an MRI because his soft spot is almost closed and it shouldn't be yet. For the MRI he would need to be sedated, so we will try the U/S first. Jackson also had croup, we had taken him to the ER Saturday before Easter and he still had a bit of a wheeze but seems to be doing better. And last but not least Cooper weighed in at 16 pounds 4 ounces and is still not on the growth curve for weight or height but sure is for his head. He also has to go for a U/S of his head so we shall wait and see what they say. And my little peanut had a double ear infection!! He is on a stronger antibiotic than last time and needs to go back after he is done with it to make sure the ears look ok.

Ella has to go to U of M tomorrow to the NICU follow up clinic to be evaluated for her developmental delays and then Monday to Oakwood for physical therapy. The Boy's go next Friday for the U/S so I will keep everyone updated.

Clyde and I were once again able to get away for a night (THANKS MOM!!!) We went just for the night and enjoyed the peace and quiet:) We have been home a little more than 24 hours and I'm ready to leave again. LOL It's only a little more than a month until we go on our first (complete) family vacation.

Friday we are going to Greenfield Village with my mom to see Thomas the Tank Engine, that was her gift to Nicholas for his birthday so I hope the weather is nice and we all enjoy:)

My little guy (now 4yrs old) had an MRI when he was 14 months old. He had to be sedated as well. I was very nervous but it ended up not being that big a deal when all was said and done.

Just something I learned... video tape them. LOL. They gave my son something "relax" him before they brought him back for the sedation. Well, he was drunk. I was so worried the night before that I gave him chocolate pudding to try. We was like a drunk little man trying to tell the doctor about pudding like it was the most amazing thing in the world. Then, he was pointing his fingers around yelling "CIRCLES CIRCLES" at every circle he saw. If only someone had warned me how funny that would be to look back on...

Good luck and big {{hugs}}

Thanks for the update, time sure can get away from you when you're chasing around four kids, right?!?! Glad to hear that you guys were able to get away...thank goodness for amazing parents :-)

I will keep all of the babies in my prayers. Big heads just mean lots o' brain, right!? Smart babies, scholarships, Ivy League :-)

Good luck with the head ultrasounds. Keep us posted if they show anything and if you get the info you need to from them without having to resort to an MRI. I've been concerned for a while about my own kiddos giant noggins which keep getting more enormous but haven't said anything to the pediatrician yet. I guess maybe I should say something at their next appt.

Happy 9 months! Your babies are getting so big. :)
